More beauty from San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

Three beautiful "incarnations" of the Virgin in San Miguel de Allende, including a pregnant Mary, which I have never seen before. She was present for one night only while I was there for the Virgin of Guadalupe festivities in December. Then, she mysteriously "disappeared".  This is part of the magic of San Miguel. I never tire of looking into her timeless, compassionate face and she brings a sense of calm to my soul.

My newest incarnation in the "Looking for Mary" series...the top piece is the background, full of many textural layers of encaustic wax, and various inks. I'm not sure if it is finished! Sudden "visions of Mary" around the world intrigue me, and this also ties into my search for "the Mother" that seems to be an ongoing theme in my art.
