Masters: Collage–a MUST see!
You will be BLOWN off the face of the planet when you open this book, "Masters: Collage", just put out by Lark Books. Well worth the $16.-25. price tag (check Amazon.com). I can only view a few pages at a time, in order to savor each piece of "gorgeousness". My cyber aquaintance, Donna Watson (her beautiful blog is called "layers"), is featured among the many uber-talented artists. Make sure you have some quiet time, away from everything, before you open this book...

Now THIS is book art!
This is the kind of art that really 'turns my crank'...Nicholas Jones makes sculptural pieces from old books. I've been tinkering with this idea for a couple of years now, and I'm offering an"Altered Book Shrine" class this August at the ASUW Experimental College in Seattle (my fall workshops will soon be posted in the sidebar under "Upcoming Workshops"). Check out Mr. Jones' work, you will never look at an old book the same way again! Truly amazing.
