South Pacific and the Pacific Northwest

I am blessed...
to have been able to visit these gorgeous places in May and June.
Pictured from top to bottom: Dragon's Teeth, Maui, Hawaii; salt deposits at Dragon's Teeth; a
West Maui ocean view; cliff at North Beach in Port Townsend, Washington; rock sculpture at North Beach; log 'wall' at North Beach, Port Townsend, Wa.

This is what keeps this artist 'ticking'...

This is a "must attend" event!!

This fabulous event is happening at the new Schack Art Center in Everett, Washington on June 5. I will be selling pastel and oil landscapes, mixed media collage, art prints, photographic prints and more! Over 90 artists will be participating, and here's a little secret: the "early bird" gets the worm. Stuff sells 'uber' fast, and prices are jaw-droppingly (is that a word?) amazing!! Cold hard CASH is best, checks or O.K., a small number of artists will accept plastic. 9 to 3 p.m. For more information, you can call the Arts Council of Snohomish County at 425-257-8380. See you there!

It's beautiful here even when it's 'gloomy'...

Photos of Snoqualmie Falls and Snoqualmie River, Copyright 2009 JonesMoore

Last week, I took a little road trip (in the rain) down to Snoqualmie Falls, near Seattle. The landscape was drenched in water, and saturated with glorious color. The mist from the falls was both invigorating and healing.

Just a reminder to self: "when the going gets rough, the tough go out in NATURE."

Rumi and art from the vaults....

I just can't get enough of the writings of Rumi...so here's a favorite of mine, paired with one of my pastel paintings called "Afternoon Meadow"... Enjoy.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I'll meet you there...

When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
doesn't make any sense.
