(see my sidebar for links to show hours and addresses).

There are also a few FUN events going on around town, like the free bluegrass concert happening on Sunday in Edmonds City Part at 3:00 p.m. Edmonds in Bloom, a gorgeous garden tour, is also taking place on Sunday from 11-4. And, there are always the beautiful beaches to visit!

A "sneek" peek at the Ladies...

This is one of the new pieces I will be showing at ArtSplash, opening July 15, in downtown Edmonds, Washington. You have GOT to see this one in person, the photo doesn't quite do it justice! This is based on an old drawing from college that I did many years ago, and I have carved the figures into encaustic wax. I've added ink, graphite, sand and glass micro-beads. See the sidebar to the right for more information on this fabulous upcoming show...

My work, "Autumn Diptych", is in the Arts Council Juried Art Show

If you are in the Everett, Washington area this Thursday, July 9, please stop by for the opening reception for the Arts Council of Snohomish County's 17th Juried Art Show (5–8 p.m at the Monte Christo Hotel lobby on Wall Street). This exhibition features artwork of the highest quality and innovation (in my opinion!). I have one piece featured in the show, called "Autumn Diptych", and is a somewhat abstract piece using encaustic combined with inkjet print on fabric, wire, bones, bleach and oil pastels. I described the process I used to make this piece in a June '09 post titled "Autumn Diptych". The Arts Council Show runs through August 20.

Artwork and photographs to be featured at Oasis Art Gallery...

Josefina's Paints, originally uploaded by jomoma58.

I am SO excited to announce my upcoming show at Oasis Art Gallery in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. The show will take place October 24, 2009-January 17, 2010. This is a beautiful gallery, featuring amazing artwork and photographs by some fantastic Seattle artists. This exhibition opens just in time for "Day of the Dead" (Dia de los Muertos) festivities, so I will be featuring--you guessed it--contemporary shrines and photographs taken in Oaxaca, Mexico! If you wish to be included in the announcement mailing list, please send your snail mail and email address to me at: jomoma58@yahoo.com. See you there!
