There will be an reception for the ArtsNow/EDCC instructors during the Edmonds ArtWalk this Thursday, September 17, from 5–8 p.m, at the beautiful Edmonds Conference Center at 201 4th Avenue North. I will be there to promote my upcoming fall quarter classes: Beeswax Collage and Recycled Book Altars. In addition to this event, you can do the downtown Edmonds Art Walk, also taking place from 5–8 p.m. I hope to see you there!

  1. It is interesting to see your collage with beeswax because I am hoping to add wax to my collages--- trying to get up the nerve and go for it. like your collage and your transitions from pastels is interesting because I have had a number transitions like that myself.

  2. Life IS change...nothing stays the same, does it? Using beeswax is so easy--just find an old crockpot, throw in some pure beeswax, use it like acrylic medium in collage, but heat each layer after you apply it (heat gun or quilting iron). Beeswax is not compatible with acrylics, but is compatible with just about everything else!

  3. This intrigues me and thankyou for explaining how to use the beeswax. Sounds as if it will help collage components to meld, and give them a lovely sheen.

  4. Glad this was helpful! Oh, one more thing: use only hogs hair type brushes when applying hot wax, as synthetic brush hairs will melt with the heat!
